"Solar Fuel" COFFEE IN SCIENCE

With the cooperation of the French Institute of Thessaloniki, the British Council and the Centre for Science and Technology Museum NOESIS continues for the sixth consecutive year, making the "Science CafĂ©" .

O pioneer researcher Athanasios Konstantopoulos, Director of the Institute for Chemical Process CERTH, will discuss our clean energy technology HYDROSOL for producing hydrogen from renewable iliothermochimiki decomposition of water vapor and its implications in the development of "solar fuel", neutral or and zero carbon footprint, using water as raw materials, carbon dioxide and solar energy. HYDROSOL technology and its implications constitute an emerging and important area of science and technology for green growth. worth noting that the production of "solar hydrogen "with technology knows HYDROSOL international recognition having won the 2007 Prize Descartes (which is the highest scientific distinction in the European Union), whereas previously it had also won the award for International Cooperation for the Hydrogen Economy (2006), the Award Global 100 Eco-Tech EXPO in Japan (2005) and Thessaloniki Innovation Award (2010). The extension HYDROSOL technology to produce "solar fuel" is characterized by the prestigious magazine New Scientist(August 2010) as «The Next Best Thing to Oil »and recently (November 2010) won the prestigious, highly competitive grant ERC Advanced Grant by the European Research Council. On Monday 10 January 2011, at 19.30 , at the French Institute, where the occasion will drink our coffee (courtesy the French Institute) and will exchange greetings for the New Year.Admission is free. More information at the French Institute, Army Avenue 2A, tel: 821 231 2310
