According to data released yesterday, the registered unemployed amounted to 609,249 in October, up by 3.75% compared with September. The subsidized unemployed amounted to 183,161 persons and are reduced by 7.46% (14 761 persons) compared to the previous month. There is also an increase in subsidized unemployed seasonal tourism jobs from the previous month 80.85% (1765 people). Of the 217 426 registered unemployed (35.69%) are enrolled in the Employment Service for 12 months or more, while 391,823 (64.31%) are enrolled for less than 12 months. The recruitment announcements totaled 91,594, up by 1.03% from September and 9.78% decrease compared to October 2009.Layoffs ( terminate contracts of indefinite duration) reached 31,241, the fixed maturities of 77,850 years, mainly reflecting the end of the season, and the 26,805 voluntary departures.Source: JOURNAL OF MACEDONIA
