Imprisonment from 5 to 10 years imposed by the three-member Court of Appeal of Thessaloniki felonies against three perjurer Tax Department for the great scandal of illegal VAT refunds amounting to 30 billion drachmas from monkey-owners of companies that were fictitious exports.
This is the former Head of the VAT A Tax Thessaloniki - already in prison Read - and two former directors of the service. The first was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment while the other two in prison and 5 years 8.
The case concerned illegal rebates to 800 million drachmas company in Thessaloniki, during the period 1998-99.
For the same case the same court imposed a prison sentence of 4 years the accountant NKand private - merchant, and acquitted two employees of ISG above.
In 58chrono accountant acknowledged the mitigating of sincere repentance. Since last summer 58chronos presented to the Prosecutor of Thessaloniki with two multi-page reports which denounced eponymously dozens of national tax, customs officials for illegal DOY various activities during the last 10 years. Based on these complaints prosecutor conducted an investigation.
Note that the scandal VAT refunds have been convicted several its tax and business in different trials taking place in Thessaloniki.
