Deadly crash GREEKS IN TURKEY




Five dead and five wounded is the outcome of serious accident which occurred today at 4.50 in the morning, shortly after Adrianople to Constantinople. According to preliminary information, tourist bus company METRO overturned and fell into a precipice 8 meters under unclear circumstances.


Eyewitnesses said the bad weather conditions prevailing in the region, combined with poor visibility and ice that had formed in the pavement, were probably the causes which led to the crash. The Greek consul at Adrianople, Mrs. Tzivelekou Friday, has brought identification of the dead and care for the wounded, most of whom are in the public hospital in Malkara. According to preliminary information, most of the bus passengers were Greek nationals Pontus origin, coming from areas of the former Soviet Union. noted that among the dead are 5 4 Greeks and one Turk.
